Delivery of Rainy Day Donations to Montefiore Wakefield and Weiler Campuses May 2021
Golden Ladies Crochet - Rainy Day Donations
Ruth Marshall is a local Bronx artist who has worked with the RAIN Boston Secor Senior Center for many years on several projects including the 2018 Montefiore Gallery in The Gardens exhibition Hanging Gardens. Early this year, Ruth and the Boston Secor Seniors embarked on a donation project to help babies at local hospitals in need. They started Rainy Day Donations to inspire knitting and crochet projects that could be made to help premies and families.
How to Participate and Donate Your Work
The group welcomes others to participate in this great project. The hospitals have requested:
Blankets:
Tightly stitched blankets so that babies eyes are protected from hospital lights. Blankets with more open stitches and also toys will be given to families as take home keepsakes. Advice for parents is not to have loose items such as toys, hats etc in cribs for newborn babies, therefore they are not put in hospital baby cribs.
